Getting shit done this new year!

A letter to myself, 5 resolutions.

2011 was a year which will be remembered for the wrong reasons, but that's okay, life has ups and downs like everything else. You're starting the year off on a low note, but the only one who can change that is yourself. You have more control of your life than you did this time last year and you can be sure that 2012 could never be worse. Look for the positives, yes?

1. You'll be travelling throughout most of this year, try not to fall into bad habits and shutting yourself off. Open yourself up to every opportunity even if it sounds like the biggest waste of time, you know from experience that some of your most cherished and prominent memories were created doing seemingly mundane things.

2. Try not to let things appear bigger than they are. Don't let small troubles and tasks consume you or just give up when it all becomes too much, then not get anything done at all. Take a breath and actually think about your priorities and sort through them, usually there's not as much to worry about as you think.

3. Try to carry your camera everywhere and draw more. "Got better things to do," is not an excuse. Remember that time your camera was surgically attached to your hip, remember when you used to always have a sketchbook on hand? Get your muse back on and start drawing all the crazy things you used to, take pictures of everything.

4. Remember how good it felt when you slipped into that pair of size 12 pants after being in size 14's for the last 6 years? Keep up the good work, and remember that this is about your health. You sleep and feel so much better when you eat right and your skin is clearing up.

5. Talk to more people in fandom, be involved, don't let interaction and opinion scare you. I know you wonder why it's so hard for you to interact with people on the net when you do great in RL, you'll get the hang of it at some point.

Just go for it.

- Yourself.
